"If You Keep Blaming This One Thing, You'll Never Succeed"...
That's the title of the above video that caught my attention one evening while wandering around in "Twitter" land. I find it fascinating to learn of what other industry leaders and their companies must endure before reaching success. Often it takes years to build a brand before a company can deem it successful.
This short video from Inc.com shares an entrepreneur's "light bulb" moment while on the brink of bankruptcy. He realized he must rebuild unity among his employees (no more finger pointing) and keep them focused on who their true competitors are.
At the end of the video, he states that the company turned profits around once they "stopped spending energy on each other and started spending that energy on building great products, understanding customers and delivering value."
Sounds pretty simple, right?
I thought of the Southeast dairy industry while watching this video. Do we know who our customers are? Are we spending too much time blaming the wrong people? Can we build great products in the Southeast that will sustain our industry?
Hmmm, it may not be very simple for us to answer after all.
I challenge you to ask yourself these questions and to share your thoughts with Georgia Milk Producers, your dairy cooperatives and promotion groups.
Our Georgia Milk board meetings are open to all Georgia dairy producers. If you would like to attend our next meeting and share your opinions, join us November 16 at 10 a.m. at the Georgia Farm Bureau Headquarters Building in Macon.
Sincerely,
