TomorrowMe

We kicked off the new year with a remarkable 2017 GA Dairy Conference! Over 400 people were in attendance and the weather made the visit to Savannah pleasant. I always enjoy visiting with dairymen, their families and colleagues.

With 2017 finally here, I am sure you will join me in welcoming the new year with open arms!

Each year, many of my online friends post their resolutions and goals on social media. Personally, I've been terrible about maintaining resolutions over the years. I don't even try to come up with any health related resolutions anymore - in fact I despise the saying "New Year, New You!"

I do, however, like to reflect on my job and try to set professional goals for the new year. This helps me to re-focus and re-energize.

This year I kept coming back to my professional journal and how I can improve my entries to better prepare for the upcoming week - or the "Tomorrow ME". I like setting aside time each Friday to reflect on the past week and plan ahead for the next week. These little steps help to build big (and positive) results.

This led me to think about our industry and what we can do together to prepare for the "Tomorrow US". I realize that dairymen are busy with their daily routines; and during tough years like 2016, you are often worried about keeping your business afloat, not your producer association.

However, I would like to challenge you to think from time-to-time about our industry and how Georgia Milk Producers can further support your business. We need to know what your priorities and expectations are for YOUR producer association. Georgia's dairy industry is extremely diverse with conventional or grazing operations, and farms ranging from small, medium to large.

I would love for you to share one or two thoughts on how you believe GA Milk Producers can prepare dairymen for the"Tomorrow US". Let's work together to build a stronger industry - my email: gamilkproducers@gmail.com.
